MEET A TURTLE

NORTHERN RED-BELLIED COOTER (Pseudemys rubriventris)

The goal was to find my white whale, a giant snapping turtle in my nearby lake. I wanted to teach my niece about that very cool species. Alas, we couldn’t find the sleeping giant.

But many other turtles were spotted and I ended up temporarily getting a lovely red-bellied cooter for a bit of show-and-tell.
